Since early 2023 S.W. Yorke gained the contract for Bellway Homes DeHavilland site located in Kings Hill, Kent.
The developer requested a fencing solution that would provide both privacy and security to the new build site whilst maintaining aesthetic appeal. The site here was in a densely populated area, with residential areas and a busy road. The construction involved excavation, heavy machinery, and various noisy activities, which posed a risk of significant disturbance to the surrounding community. Acoustic fencing was selected for its ability to block and deflect sound waves effectively. The fencing material was designed specifically to reduce noise.
The installation of the acoustic fencing began with the preparation of the site, including the marking of fence boundaries and the setup of equipment. Then the panels were delivered and placed along the perimeter of the construction site where they were mounted onto steel posts, ensuring durability and stability.
Installation occurred in phases to minimise disruption to ongoing construction activities. On the site plots we installed traditional closeboard panels for plot fencing alongside plot gates. The fencing material was chosen for its strength and durability, as well as ensuring the safety of the workforce. The fence was erected to meet legal and safety requirements, complying to both construction and local regulations.
